Albert Curtis Valentine was born July 18, 1852, in Frederick or Carroll County, Maryland, the son of Josiah and Emily Shriner Valentine. On April 16, 1880, in Libertytown, Frederick County, he married Luvinia Agnes Eyler, daughter of Peter and Nancy Locke Eyler. They were the parents of 8 children: Clara Maude, Murray Curtis, Sadie E., Walter Josiah, Ethel Rebecca, William Vernon, Mattie M. and Lena Irene Valentine. By 1910, the family moved to York, Pennsylvania. Albert passed away on August 20, 1924, in North York, York County, and was buried on the 23rd in Prospect Hill Cemetery in York.

"Albert C. Valentine, 27, of Frederick County, bachelor, farmer, to Lavinia A. Eyler, 24, of Frederick County, maid. Married April 15, 1880, in Georgetown, Frederick County, by William Beall."


From the Marriage Records at Union Chapel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Libertytown, Frederick County, Maryland:

"Albert C. Valentine, of Georgetown, son of Josiah and Emily Valentine, and Agnes Levinia Iler, of Frederick County, daughter of Peter and Nancy Iler. Married April 16, 1880, by Rev. Dr. Beal."

"THE WORK OF DEATH. Albert Curtis Valentine died Wednesday morning at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Lehr, North York, Pennsylvania. He was aged 72 years, one month and two days. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Francis Lehr, Miss Ethel R. Valentine, North York; Murray C. Valentine, York; Mrs. John Blaine, Norristown; Walter J. Valentine, William V. Valentine, North York; Mrs. Clarence Schroeder, York. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Emma Eyler, North York; one brother, Milton O. Valentine, Walkersville, and 19 grandchildren. Funeral Saturday afternoon at two o'clock, with services at his late residence. Interment in Prospect Hill Cemetery, York, Pennsylvania."
