Final rites for William Carl Lockman, Sr., 87, of 24 Lind Street S. E., were solemnized at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, at the Parker Funeral Home. The Very Rev. Charles R. Allen, Dean of the Cathedral of Our Merciful Savior, officiated, Mrs. Donald Wafler played organ selections. Burial took place in Maple Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers were Edward Hansen, William Mullenmeister, John Hedges, Earl Pofahl, Joe Ackerman, and George Bremer, all of Faribault. Relatives and friends from a distance who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Victor Dufty and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Thom and daughter of Milwaukee, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Adams and son of Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Kurth of Ackely, Ia., and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Lockman of Austin. Lockman died Tuesday evening, Dec. 14, after a brief illness. He was born Sept. 19, 1866, in Germany. Following the death of his father, he came to this country with his mother when he was 17 years of age. They settled in Farmington. He was married to Serena Nelson on Feb. 7, 1891 at Prescott, Wis. They made their home for several years in Farmington. They lived in Northfield later and finally came to Faribault to make their home. Lockman worked for the Loyhed Hardware as a tinner for 45 years and then operated his own shop for several years. He is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Charles Thom (Lillian) and Mrs. Frank Kiether (Catherine), both of Faribault, and Mrs. Victor Dufty of Milwaukee; three sons: William C. Lockman Jr., Fred Lockman, and Harry Lockman, all of Faribualt; 10 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. His wife preceded him in death, as did one son in infancy.
