Myrtie Allene Horne Strouth

Mrs. Myrtie (Allene) Horn Strouth, age 70 of Richlands, Virginia, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2004 at her home following a brief illness. Born in Buchanan County, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Letcher Lewis & Josie Bell Addison Horn. She was a 1953 graduate of Richlands High School and an LPN graduate at Clinch Valley Clinic in 1954. She was a mail carrier in the Jewell Ridge & Whitewood areas for several years. Allene was an employee for Appalachian Agency for Senior Citizens at the time of her death.


In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Perry Strouth and one infant brother.


She is survived by two sons, Danny Ray Strouth & wife LaDonna & Barry Dean Strouth & wife Amanda both of Richlands; four daughters, Elizabeth Kinder & husband Randy of Jewell Ridge, Donna Helton of Richlands, Rita Dameron & husband Darrell of Yukon, WV & Kathy Dunford & husband Lloyd of Bandy; four brothers, Ira Horn & wife Mavis & Albert (Elmer) Horn & wife Carol both of Cedar Bluff, Elden Horn of Doran & Teddy Horn & wife Phyllis of Pounding Mill; four sisters, Betty Warburton & husband Roy of Elkton, MD, Gaynelle Harman & husband Eugene of Cedar Bluff, Beatrice Kruckow & husband Rich of LaPlata, MD & Ruby Rood & husband Larry of Waldorf, MD; special friends, Kathlene & Dennis Matthews, Greg Goss, James & Ruth Strouth; 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren & 2 step great grandchildren and a special canine companion, Missy also survive.


Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff, Virginia with Rev. Joe Horn & Rev. Sam Altizer officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.


The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 P.M. Tuesday at Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, Virginia.
