Teddy Roosevelt Horn, age 80 of Pounding Mill, VA went on to his heavenly farmland on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. Ted was born February 15, 1941 in Buchanan County to the late Letcher and Josie Addison Horn.
Ted was a hard-working and generous man. He grew up in a family of farmers and started as a young man working with cattle, tobacco, gardening, and putting up hay. He was always proud of his garden and frequently shared the vegetables with the community. His career at Simmons Rand spanned more than 30 years, working tireless hours while still maintaining dozens of acres of farmland and raising a family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Elden J. Horn and Elmer Horn; sisters, Allene Strouth and Ruby Rood.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 56 years, Phyllis Ann Lawson Horn of Claypool Hill, VA; children, Kevin Duane Horn of Long Beach, CA, Rebecca Jayne Haywood and husband Ricky of Pounding Mill, VA, Teddy Douglas Horn and wife Jessica of Ft. Riley, KS; one brother, Ira Horn; three sisters, Betty Warburton, Gaynelle Harman, Beatrice Kruckow and husband Rich; four grandchildren, Ricky Haywood, Jr., Matthew Haywood, Aiden Horn, and Addison Horn; three great-grandchildren, Clayton Haywood, Avery Haywood, and Grayson Haywood; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, December 20th at Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, VA. The family requests masks be worn at all times due to the COVID Pandemic.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 21st in the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Joe Horne officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens Cemetery at Claypool Hill, VA. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
