Kathy Lynn Strouth Dunford, age 51 of Bandy, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Holston Valley Hospital. Born September 2, 1960 in Tazewell County, Virginia she was the daughter of the late William Perry and Myrtie (Allene) Horn Strouth. She was a 1978 graduate of Richlands High School. She was a member and past matron of the Richlands Order of Eastern Star #104 in Richlands, Virginia. She was past matron of Tazewell Order of Eastern Star #187. Kathy was a member of Reynolds Ridge Community Church and an employee of Dollar Tree at Claypool Hill, Virginia.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Calvin Dunford.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Lloyd Dunford; two sons, Nathenial Dunford and Fiancee Kayla Spears of Reynolds Ridge, VA and Barry Strouth and wife Amanda of Richlands, VA; one granddaughter, Madison Hope Strouth; one brother, Danny Strouth and wife LaDonna of Richlands, VA; three sisters, Elizabeth Kinder and husband Randy of Jewell Ridge, VA, Rita Damron and husband Darrell of Yukon, WV and Donna Helton of Richlands, VA; mother-in-law, Geneva Dunford of Reynolds Ridge, VA; canine companion, Prissy; several nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, Virginia with Rev. Lonnie Perkins officiating.
The family will receive friends after 1:00 P.M. Sunday.
