Carl Leo Alvey Sr., 64, of Santa Claus, Indiana passed away on Monday, November 19, 2012 at his home with his loving family by his side. Carl was born in Rockport, Indiana on August 7, 1948 to the late Bernard C. and Mary Bell (Campbell) Alvey. Carl had served with the United States Marie Corps in Vietnam from 1967 until 1969. He worked in Tell City, Indiana at ATTC Manufacturing Company. He was an avid Indiana University and Indianapolis Colts fan. Carl enjoyed spending time with his family and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Francis Canada, Charlie Alvey, Leonard "Bill" Alvey. Carl is survived by his wife, Sharon Alvey of Santa Claus, IN; Children, Carl Alvey Jr. and his wife, Sarah of Santa Claus, IN; Kay Sheets and her husband, Jason of Santa Claus, IN; Grandchildren, Jordan Sheets and his wife, Melissa; Jessi Sheets, Sarah Sullivan, Kelsey Alvey, Chelsey Alvey, Carson Lee Alvey; Great-grandchild, Addisyn EmmaLee Sheets; Siblings, Joe Alvey of Rockport, IN; Ida Smith and her husband, John of Rockport, IN; Elizabeth Freeman and her husband, Ronald of Rockport, IN; Wyman Alvey Sr. of Santa Claus, IN; In-Laws, Donna Fuentes and her husband, Lyle; Carolyn Hufnagel and her husband, Dan; Ron Harrison and his wife, Cindy; Julie Switzer and her husband, Phillip; Brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews; Best friend, Kenny Sommers; Good buddy, John Mattingley. Services are 1 P.M. Friday, November 23, 2012 at the Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Indiana with Rev. Carl Jones officiating. Burial is in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Rockport, Indiana. Visitation is from 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. Thursday, November 22, 2012 and from 10 A.M. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.
