RUSSELL CLIDE LAIRD
Died at the home of a sister, Mrs. W. J. Henderson, who resides near Bellwood, at 9 o'clock Saturday morning. He suffered a stroke of paralysis two years ago and had been in ill health since. He was born in Antis township, May 5, 1870, a son of John S. and Elizabeth (Leffard) Laird and on Oct. 4, 1890, was united in marriage with Miss Mary A. Henderson, who died June 14, 1927. Surviving are two brothers and two sisters, Harry B. and John W. Laird of Bellwood, Mrs. William J. Henderson of near Bellwood, and Mrs. Viola Stoke of this city. Mr. Laird was actively connected with the Bellwood Methodist church for a number of years, serving as Sunday school liberarian, head usher and a member of the official board. He was also a member of the Knights of Pythias, and the Knights of the Order of Tented Maccabees, both of Bellwood. Funeral services will be held in the Bellwood Methodist church at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon with Rev. L. E. Wilson officiating, assisted by Rev. J. F. Anderson. Interment will be made in Logan Valley cemetery.
