Mary E. Crawford

Mary E. Crawford, 78, of Mount Pleasant, died at 1:15 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 1992, at her daughter's home in Mount Pleasant.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Competine Cemetery east of Farson with the Rev. Keevin Koch Officiating. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 tonight at Behner Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Crawford was born Nov. 22, 1913, in Scotland County, Mo., the daughter of Jim and Maude Adams Adams. She married Guy R. Crawford in 1942. He died in 1966. A home-maker, she did home care baby-sitting, lived most of her life in Jefferson County and was a member of the Christian church.

Surviving are a daughter, Karen Townsend of Mount Pleasant; a grandson; two stepgrandchildren; two great-grandsons; four sisters, Betty Smith of Kansas City Mo., Jessie Christy of Cedar Rapids, Ruth Burns of Napa, Calif., Hazel Ward of Sigourney and a brother Glen Adams of Agency. Three brothers, Howard, Everett, Clarence and two sisters, Bessie Johnson and Pauline Davis, preceded her in death.
