G. R. Crawford Taken In Death

Guy Raymond Crawford, 77, died Wednesday at 11:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Jessie Crawford seven miles northwest of Fairfield. He had made his home there for the past four years.

Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Campbell funeral chapel in Batavia. The Rev. Kermit Black will officiate. Burial will be in Competine cemetery.

Crawford lived in the Batavia area for many years. A farmer, he was also employed as a county road worker before his retirement.

Crawford was born July 7, 1887, the son of William J. and Margaret Sisson Crawford. He was married to Elizabeth Adams on April 22, 1942.

Surviving are his wife and one daughter Mrs. Larry Talley, Batavia. The following brothers and sisters also survive; Earl and Wayne Crawford of Batavia; Ernest Crawford, of Washington; Mrs. Wesley Gillaspie, Libertyville; and Mrs. Martha Salts, Batavia. Three brothers and one sister are deceased.
