CRAWFORD rites set

William Earl CRAWFORD, 86, 604 W. Jefferson, Fairfield, died Saturday morning at Jefferson County Hospital following a heart attack earlier in the morning.

The Campbell Funeral Chapel in Batavia is in charge of arrangements. The service will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Peoples Church, north of Batavia, with the Rev. Kermit Black officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield. Memorials are to the Peoples Church where CRAWFORD was a charter member.

The son of William and Margaret Ellen SISSON CRAWFORD, he was born April 30, 1894 near Abingdon. He lived all his life in Jefferson County.

He married Flossie M. KNOX Feb. 3, 1916. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Charles CRAWFORD, Fairfield, and William CRAWFORD, Belle Plaine, Kans., five daughters, Morine HOGAN (sic. Fern Moraine Crawford Hogan), Richland, Virginia CONN, Corvallis, Ore., Ila BRADSHAW, Fairfield, Lucille DAVIS, Omaha., Neb., and Mary SHANSTROM of Libertyville.

Other survivors are a brother, Wayne CRAWFORD, and a sister, Martha SALTS, both of Parkview Care Center; 24 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son in infancy, two sisters, five brothers and two grandsons.
