Obituary Of Walter C. Ehlers

Walter C. Ehlers, eldest son of Frederick and Louise Ehlers, was born at Deshler, Nebraska, on February 22, 1894. After spending his childhood and youth in the Deshler area he moved to Sidney, Nebr.

It was at Sidney that he met and married Belva L. Hill on December 8, 1917. To this union eleven children were born.

He lived in the Sidney area until 1925, when he returned to Deshler, where he spent the remainder of his life. Death came rather unexpectedly on Monday, April 15, 1963.

He is survived by his wife, Belva, of Deshler, and ten children, Edward, of Washington, D.C.; Thelma, of Portland, Ore.; Louise, of Edgar; Eugene, of Fremont; Vivian, of Davenport; Orrin, of Superior; Opal, of Denver, Colo.; LaVern, of Albany, Georgia; Cecil, of Lincoln; and Wesley, of Deshler. Also surviving are three brothers, four sisters, 28 grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Norman.
