Maud Alice Drew was the fourth child born to Jim and Bessie Drew. She lived in Texas all of her childhood.

She was listed on the 1910 census at age 2 weeks as Cecil. Her name was later changed to Maud. Being one of the two oldest girls she was in charge of helping her mom take care of the younger children. She had to help change diapers at age five.

As a teenager it was her job to collect water from the creek and also bring in firewood. One day while collecting firewood her brother accidentally swung the ax back and hit her in the head with the blade. She survived but always suffered from headaches after that incident.

She graduated from 11th grade in 1929. She saved her egg and butter money to buy a class sweater from High School. She married Ed Bostick in the fall of that same year. She gave up on her dreams of becoming a teacher to be a wife and mother.

The family moved from Texas to Arizona and eventually to Oregon. They moved back to Texas 13 years later in 1946.

They raised three hard working girls who had to help out on the farm.

In 1955 they moved from Oklahoma to San Jose, California. During the next 19 years they lived all over Northern California in Roseville, Rocklin, Agglegate, Loomis, Penryn, and Auburn. By 1974 they moved back to Texas where they bought a Pecan Orchard. In 1976 the moved to the small city of Comanche.
