Ralph Fisher Varnes, 91, of 8911 W. 93rd St., Overland Park, died Friday at Olathe Community Hospital. He was a lifelong Olathe resident. Mr. Varnes worked for Union Gas Systems Inc. before he retired and also had been a farmer. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Olathe. He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Betty Shafor, Overland Park; a granddaughter; and two great grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Frye Chapel, Olathe; burial in the Olathe Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.

Pauline May Perkins, born 8 May 1893, Colorado Springs, El Paso Co., Colorado; married Ralph Fisher Varnes in 1916 and died 15 Aug 1962. She was the daughter of Frank Melvin Perkins (1878-1925), and Izora Belle Klinepeter (1862-1941) from Colorado Springs, Colorado. They lived on a farm in Kansas.
