`Clyde Raymond Varnes, 64 years old, Caldwell, Kans., died Wednesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Velora Artherton, Wichita. He was a chief dispatcher for the Rock Island railroad at Caldwell until his health failed a year ago. He had been at his daughter's home two months. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Emma Varnes of the home in Caldwell; his mother, Mrs. Lucy Varnes, Olathe; three brothers, A. M. Varnes, Osawatomie; Ralph Varnes and Harold Varnes, both of Olathe. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Saturday at the Downing chapel in Wichita, to be followed by burial in Wichita. Those attending the services from here were Mrs. Lucy Varnes, Mrs. Ada White, Mrs. Hayden Shafor, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Varnes, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Varnes and Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Varnes.
