Mrs. Liechti, daughter of Arthur and Adeline Knowlton, was born on Dec. 3, 1876 at Clinton. She moved with her parents to Carroll County where she lived most of her life. Her marriage to John F. Liechti took place on Feb. 21, 1905 at the home of her parents west of Carroll. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carroll and one of the five charter members of the Century Club of Iowa, an organization of persons 100 years old or older, organized in September 1977.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mabel Gruhn of rural Carroll; two grandchildren, Mrs. Arnold (Sharon) Heide of Arcadia and Mrs. James (Sheryl) Rodman of Green City, Mo., and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1930 and two sons, Albert and Charles in infancy; a son-in-law, a great granddaughter, five brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Liechti died Monday at the Carroll Manner where she had lived the past 2 years.
