Viola May Pendleton Barnhart, 87, of Troy, Mo., died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, at Lincoln County Nursing and Rehab in Troy.
She was born Sept. 16, 1913, in Milen to Jefferson Davis "Jeff" and Anna Jane Machon Pendleton. On Sept. 6, 1930, she was married in Maries County to Euel Clay Barnhart, who died in 1981.
Mrs. Barnhart worked for United Van Lines in Fenton for 10 years. She had been a member of the Troy First Baptist Church and an officer with the Troy Chapter 405, Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving her are a son, John Barnhart of Green wood; two daughters, Shirley McCollum of Troy, Mo., and Joretta Jasper of Carlsbad, N.M.; a brother, Charles Pendleton of Dixon; three sisters, Rosie Woody of Springfield, Jeanie Williams of Troy, Mo., and Velma Williams of Sullivan; two sister-in-laws, Agnes Pendleton of Iberia and Laveda Ferren of the lake area; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 26, at McCoy and Blossom Funeral Home in Troy, Mo. The Rev. Gary E. Berry officiated. Burial was held at noon Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Pendleton Cemetery at Meta. Charles Williams officiated at the graveside service.
