Mary L. Bowton, 73, of 558 N. Jefferson St. died Wednesday, March 7, 2001, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
Born Sept. 24, 1927, in Ipava to Ray and Gertie Hitz Colwell, she married Kenneth Bowton on Nov. 10, 1947, in Canton. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Albert Ward and Kent Bowton, both of Galesburg; one daughter, Brenda McGarry of Galesburg; three brothers, Fred Colwell, Carl Colwell and Leroy Colwell, all of Abingdon; and one sister, Margaret Green of DeLong.
One son, James, preceded her in death.
She had been a nurse's aide at Galesburg Cottage Hospital and OSF St. Mary Medical Center. She also sold Avon products.
Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery.
