REBECCA ETHEL PURYEAR BOTTOMS, a lifelong resident of LONG BRANCH, died Sunday at home. She was last employed by ICCC, Long Branch. She was a volunteer for Family Services Food Pantry for 20 years. She was a member of the Monmouth County Democratic Organization and the NAACP. She was a member of Second Baptist Church, Long Branch, its first aid unit and the carnation club and was a missionary. She was a member of Golden Link Chapter 24 Order of the Eastern Star PHA, and was sponsor of the Youth Felicitares.
Her husband, John Bottoms, died in 1974; and she was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Victoria Puryear. Surviving are two daughters, Lois Sanders of Long Branch, and Mona Bottoms of Neptune; a son, Jon Bottoms of Neptune; a sister, Victoria Puryear Walker of Tennessee; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Pearl; a son-in-law, James Sanders; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
