She was born in Columbia, Va. A member of the Second Baptist Church, here, she was also a member of its Carnation Blub. She was a member of the Golden Leaf Lodge of Good Samaritans and of the Missionary Society, Courts of Calanthe, both here.
Mrs. Puryear is survived by her husband, Thomas Puryear; two sons, Lester Puryear, here, and Alfred Puryear of Neptune; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Lou McPheeters, Mrs. Victoria P. Walker and Mrs. Rebecca E. bottoms, all here; a brother, Neal Langhorne of Columbia; 17 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
The funeral will be at the Second Baptist Church at 2 p.m. tomorrow. Burial, under the direction of the Flock Funeral Home, here, will be in White Ridge Cemetery, Eatontown.
