VICTORIA LANGHORNE PURYEAR WALKER, 83, of Chattanooga, Tenn., formerly of LONG BRANCH, died July 2 at home. She was a seamstress for Roxann Bathing Suit Factory, Neptune, for many years, retiring in 1977. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star; and Second Baptist Church, Long Branch. Born in Long Branch, she lived there most of her life before moving to Tennessee in 1995.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Ann Walker; her parents, Thomas L. and Victoria Puryear; four brothers, Robert, Thomas, Lester, and Alfred; two sisters, Marylou McPheeters, and Rebecca Bottoms. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Barbara Walker of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Ronald and Belinda Puryear of Long Branch; six granddaughters, Robin Coleman of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Tonia Dailey of Chattanooga, Meredith Ervin of Eagan, Minn., Alexis Walker of Forest Park, Ga., Nyoka Walker of Chattanooga, and Dana Puryear of Long Branch; two grandsons, Ronald Puryear Jr. of Hawaii, and Simon Puryear of Long Branch; six great-grandchildren, Olivia Williams of Flint, Mich., Robert and Kesha Dailey, and Yedah Damianni, all of Chattanooga, and Justice and Xavier Puryear of Long Branch; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joe and Sarah Walker, and Prince Walker, all of Las Vegas, and Angela Puryear of Cupertino, Calif.; a host of nieces and nephews; and many longtime friends.
