She graduated from Long Branch High School in 1958. Lois joined Second Baptist Church in Long Branch, New Jersey at an early age and was a member of the Junior Choir. She later joined Salem Baptist Church in Long Branch, New Jersey and sang in the Senior Choir. Lois and James Sanders were joined in holy matrimony in 1986.
Lois was employed with Lard Factory, Lily Tulips, Taxi service, and Long Branch Housing Authority. She was a former Worthy Matron of the Golden Link Chapter #24 O.E.S. PHA (1973), member of Youth Felicitares, and organized the Star Travelers where they gave scholarships to graduating students. Lois was also a member of the John Johnson Elk Lodge in Eatontown, New Jersey.
She is survived by her loving husband, James Sanders of Homestead, Florida; three daughters and two son in laws, Yvonne and Justin Fisher of Homestead, Florida, Melissa and Kenneth Booker of Long Branch, New Jersey, and Gertrude Johnson of Homestead, Florida; grandchildren, Omar Johnson, Barbara , Mona, Tiffany, and Melissa Booker; ten great grandchildren; brother and sister-in law, Jon and Pearl Bottoms of Eatontown, New Jersey; sister and brother in law, Mona and Ronald Savage of Neptune, New Jersey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, nine foster children, and loving friends.
