Mrs. Jennie Andrews, about 55 years old, 3005 Grand avenue, was fatally injured shortly before 8 o'clock Sunday night when she was struck first by an automobile and then by a street car at Forest avenue and Jeffries street, South Dallas. She was removed to St. Paul Sanitarium, where she died a few minutes later. Witnesses told police that Mrs. Andrews was hit by an automobile and knocked in the path of a moving street car. The street car, they said, dragged her several feet before coming to a halt. She received a fracture to her left arm, head injuries and internal injuries, Dr. O.W. English of the Emergency Hospital said. Police took in custody a man who was said to have been driving the automobile which struck Mrs. Andrews. The body was taken in care by the Weiland Undertaking Company. Mrs. Andrews is survived by six daughters, Mrs. James Harris and Mrs. T. W. Lewis of Marshall, Mrs. H.C. Howard of Panhandle, Mrs. G. E. Cooper of Electra and Miss Jennie Andrews and Mrs. W.A. Simpson of Dallas; three sons, George H. Andrews of Dallas, L.A. Andrews of Wilson, Ok., and O.M. Andrews of Los Angeles; six brothers and five sisters. Dallas Morning News, February 2, 1925
