Robert Hatton Murray was born on February 9, 1869 in Tennessee, the son of Samuel Cochran Murray (1823–1909) and Malinda L (Collins) Murray (1837–1917).
He was married about 1902 to Geneva Powell (1883–1964).
A night watchman for a bottling company and living at 1202 Cherry Avenue, Nashville, Robert was 72 years old and married when he died of a cerebral hemorrhage on October 19, 1941 at Nashville General Hospital where he had been for two days. Burial was two days later in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Nashville.
