Mr. McDuffie served as an East Point city judge from 1960 until he retired in 1980.

He was appointed a Fulton County Superior Court clerk in 1930, and served as a Fulton County criminal court clerk from 1958 to 1972.

Roderick Marcus McDuffie was born Feb. 28, 1904, in East Point. He was the fifth of six children of Daniel A. McDuffie, a farmer, and Mrs. Jessie Turner McDuffie.

The young Mr. McDuffie received his law degree from the Atlanta Law School. He was past president of the East Point Historical Society and the first person to serve in that position. He served as President of the Georgia Elk Association and was instrumental in the establishment of the East Point Elks Lodge in East Point, Ga. Mr.McDuffie was also a Mason and a member of the Kiwanis Club. He Was a member in good standing of the East Point United Methodist Church.

Married first to Daisy (?) McDuffie and after her death married Christine Adams.
