Archie was the Illigetimate son of Alvis Meyers and Mary A. Sprinkle.



A.P. SPRINKLE TAKEN IN DEATH

Arch Preston Sprinkle, 85, a retired farmer of the Central community died at 1 p.m. Saturday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Howard Tilley.
He had been in failing health for several years and had been seriously ill for several weeks. He was a native of Iredell County, born May 23, 1877.
Sprinkle was married to the former Lula Millsaps, who died in 1961.
Survivors include four sons, Spencer E. Sprinkle and Herman C. Sprinkle, both of Statesville, Lonnie P. Sprinkle and Hal R. Sprinkle, both of Greensboro; six daughters, Mrs. R.C. Loyd, Mrs. J.E. Brotherton, Mrs. Lee Millsaps, Mrs. Alan Shaver, and Mrs. Howard Tilley, all of Statesville, and Mrs. Parks Henderson of Hamptonville; 56 grandchildren, and 41 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were to be conducted at 2:30 p.m. today at New Prospect Baptist Church with Rev. R. C. Loyd and Rev. C.C. Holland officiating. Burial was to follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were to be grandchildren of the deceased, Joe Hal Brotherton, Albert Sprinkle, R.C. Loyd, Jr., Archie Hal Millsaps, Edward Sprinkle, and Jackie Henderson.
