Margaret Adelphia Anderson was the first of three children born to George and Elizabeth (Waters) Anderson.

Her father, Justice of the Peace, was shot and killed in Butler County, KY.

Her mother remarried, and the family moved to Jefferson County, IL after 1820.

She married William H Moore in Marion County, in 1832. They had nine children: Andrew J, Zadok Casy, Job, Malvina, Sarah V, Isaac Anderson, Elizabeth, William Harvey, and Margaret J.
