Isaac Anderson Moore was the sixth child of nine born to William Harvey and Margaret Adelphia (Anderson) Moore.

He served in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Civil War.

He married Margaret Josephine Adams in Jefferson County, IL in 1866. They had eleven children: Lucy, Harvey, Joseph E, Isaac Americus, Otto, Lila, Charles O, Alva, Vernie, and Schuyler Bascom.

They moved with some of the family to Noble County, OK during the second infamous "Land Boom." His wife died there.

He moved to Reno County, Kansas. He worked there as a contractor before he retired.
