Elizabeth (Waters) Roper was the fifth child of six born to Westwood and Abigail (Renfro) Waters.

She married George Anderson, the Constable, in Butler County, KY in 1811. They had the three children: Margaret Adelphia, George W, and Crittenden. George was murdered by the Justice of the Peace, per Coroner's Inquest.

She remarried David Roper there in 1816. They had five children: Andrew Jackson, Marion, Franklin, Elizabeth Jane, and David C.

They moved to Marion County, IL by 1832.
