My Aunt Oleatha Geneva was born Aug 21, 1927 to Labin Gilbert and Frances Lillie Mae Hodge Thomas of Crowder Springs, South of Boswell, Choctaw County, Oklahoma.

Oleatha was the sister of Ernest Thomas, Virgil Crittington Thomas, Newton Hurbert Thomas, Albert Stanley Thomas,
Muriel Thomas Wright,
and Oletha Thomas Wilson-Murphy, and Alta Mae Hodge Brownfield-Erwin.

She was the mother of one daughter, Linda Joyce Wilson and six sons; Jerry Don Wilson, Thomas Hugh Wilson, Bruce Eugene Wilson, Larry Wayne Wilson, Dana Charles Wilson and Dr. Charles Lee Murphy.

She was also the grandmother to several grandchildren and aunt to many nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.

Obituary was published in the Ventura County Star from 10/7/2006 - 10/10/2006.

Oleatha Geneva Murphy, 79, of Ojai passed away Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, in Ojai after a sudden illness.

Mrs. Murphy was born Aug. 21, 1927, in the Crowder Springs-Boswell area of Oklahoma, and had lived in Ojai for 53 years, coming from Boswell.

Mrs. Murphy was the night switchboard operator at Grey Gables of Ojai for 18 years.

She is survived the Depression, which gave her a deep caring for the poor and less fortunate. Her door was always open to those who needed a place to stay. She will be missed.

She is survived by her brother Albert Thomas of Boswell, Okla.; sister Muriel Wright of Cleburne, Texas; sons Thomas H. Wilson of Rocklin, Calif., Dana C. Wilson of Philadelphia, Pa., and Charles L. Murphy of Ventura; daughter, Linda J. Kucia of Ojai; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Crit Thomas and Newton Thomas, sister Alta Mae Jones, and sons Jerry Don Wilson, Bruce Eugene Wilson and Larry Wayne Wilson.

A memorial service will be held at noon Monday, Oct. 9, at the Lake Casitas gazebos.

Arrangements are by the privately owned and operated Clausen Funeral Home, in Ojai.
