Mrs. Akerson died Friday at age 58.
She was born April 4, 1910, in Cheshire, a community named for her grandparents, James and Susan Cheshire. Natives of Tennessee, the elder Cheshires joined a wagon train at St. Joseph, Mo., coming to Oregon in 1852.
A member of the First Methodist Church in Junction City, Mrs. Akerson was married Nov. 30, 1933, at Cheshire to John Akerson, who survives. She is also survived by a son of Salem; a daughter of Portland; six brothers, Lynn, Dale and Neil of Cheshirelaire of Des Moines, Iowa, Robert of Jasper and Leslie of Crow.
