Neil Cheshire

CHESHIRE - A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, May 7, at Rest Lawn Memorial Park in Junction City for Neil Denning "Husky" or "Huck" Cheshire of Cheshire who died May 1 of age-related causes. He was 88.

Cheshire was born Feb. 12, 1919, in Cheshire to Lee and Eska Bailey Cheshire. He married Beatrice Williams on Nov. 29, 1939, in Monroe. She died Dec. 24, 2002. He married Patricia Colasont on July 30, 2005, in Junction City.

He graduated from Monroe High School in 1937. He worked at Larsen, Clark, and Powell Sawmill in Junction City, and as a logger and cat-skinner for his brothers' logging company. He also worked on several farms in the Cheshire area, drove trucks for various companies and worked for Mountain States Power Company. He was an orchardist, and he and his wife operated Bea's Berries in Cheshire.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Michael of Central Point; four daughters, Vicky Wade of Deadwood, Geraldine Troxel of Cheshire, Carol Hamel of Salem, and Diane Cheshire-Bray of Sisters; a stepson, Charles Colasont of North Carolina; 19 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at Long Tom Grange. Arrangements by Chapel of Memories Funeral Home in Eugene. Remembrances to the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church building fund or Long Tom Grange.
