OBITUARY - DES MOINES REGISTER, July 27, 1998

CLAIRE CHESHIRE
Des Moines

Claire B. Cheshire, 92, of 4141 Amherst St. died of pneumonia Saturday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Serices will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton's Funeral Home, with burial at Glendale Cemetery.

Mr. Cheshire was born in Cheshire, Ore., and moved to Des Moines in 1956. He was a farmer most of his life, and retired as a custodian for Des Moines Public Library. He was a member of Laborers International Union of North America.

Survivors include five daighters, Nancy Ferguson of Clive, Susan Vance of Des Moines, Linda Vavroch of Urbandale, Sharon Jones of Grimes and Shirley Miller of Ames; two sons, Roger of Newton and Wally of Anderson, Mo.; two brothers, Neil and Leslie both of Cheshire; 20 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Associaton.
