A native of Alder MT, she came to reside in Virginia City in 1936, before moving to Reno in 1940. She worked as a dealer that year in the Palace Club, and then was employed for 25 years as a dealer in the Mapes Hotel.
An avid gardener and active in arts and crafts work, she took particular pride in tin craft work, some of which were in public exhibitions.
She was first married to Harold Reno, of Reno, and later wed Paul Cuilla, a Reno barbershop owner in 1944. Prior to his death in 1969, he barbered for many years in the old Golden Hotel.
In October 1971, she married Harlan Browne of Reno, who now survives her.
Mrs Browne was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Reno, and was active in its Ladies Guild. She was also a member of the Cloverleaf Square Dancing Club.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by: aon Robert Reno of Reno; brothers Elmer Salmonsen of Dillon MT, Arthur Salmonsen of Butte MT, and Nels Salmonsen of Virginia City MT; sisters Bertha Larsen of Sheraton MT, Anna Hunter of Burley ID, Martha Magnus of Sheraton MT, and Alice Hinch of Reno; a granddaughter Katherine Reno of Reno. A son, Harry Reno, preceded her in death in 1968 in California.
The funeral will be conducted at 11am Wednesday in the Ross-Burke-Knobel Mortuary. The Rev Bill Walters will officiate. Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery.
