Art Salmonsen Funeral is Thursday. Service are scheduled Thursday in Butte for Dillon native Arthur Salmonsen, who died in Missoula on Saturday. Mr. Salmonsen was born in Dillon on May 20, 1905, and attended schools in the Ruby Valley. He was married in 1931 to Della May Banning, who died in 1964. He moved to the Mining City in 1953 and in 1967 married Aileen Hakala in Reno, Nevada. He had been a Butte miner during his residence there, and was a rancher while in the Ruby and Dillon areas. He was a member of the South Side Athletic Club, the Eagles and the Elks. Funeral service are to be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home, with the Rev. Oliver Jones officiating. Burila is to be in Butte. Survivors include brothers, Elmer of Dillon and Nels of Virginia City, sisters; Bertha Larson and Martha Magnus of Sheridan. His sons, Douglas, Walter, and James reside in Butte. There are 17 grandchildren. - January 4, 1978
