MRS. PETERSON'S MOTHER DIES IN LAKIN
Mrs. Ora Carter of Lakin, a Ulysses resident of many years ago, and mother of Mrs. Don Peterson of Ulysses, died unexpectedly in a Lakin hospital Thursday evening, March 28, of a heart ailment. She had been in failing health in recent years and was in the hospital fours days, her daughter reported. Funeral services were Monday, April 1, in the Lakin Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Carter was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Anderson, early Ulysses residents and during high school days in Ulysses she worked in the office of the county treasurer, when her father held that office. After graduation from high school here she married Mr. Carter. They moved to Lakin in 1920.
Survivors include Mrs. Peterson of Ulysses and her twin sister, Mrs. Bert McCue of Lakin and a granddaughter reared in the Carter family, Jeane Kleeman of Lakin, six other grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Two brothers Joe Anderson and Allen Anderson of the Menno community, and two sisters, Mrs. Alta Olgilvie of La Canada, Calif. and Mrs. Mary Davis of Fair Oaks, Calif. also survive.
