Bernard Joseph Alvey, 61, of 4505 St. Rita Drive, died there Wednesday. He was a retired employee of the Louisville Gas & Electric Co., a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife, the former Mary E. Pierce; three daughters, Mrs. Carolyn McCaskill, Mrs. Gloria Gant and Miss Mary Ann Alvey; two sons, Billy and Steve Alvey; a sister, Louise Corbett; and five grandchildren. The funeral will be at noon Friday at St. Rita Catholic Church, 8709 Preston Highway, with burial in St. Michael Cemetery. Visitation at Arch L. Heady Okolona Funeral Home, 8519 Preston Highway, will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday
