COURIER JOURNAL OBITUARY - 05/08/2007
ALVEY - Mary Elizabeth, 85, of Okolona, passed away Monday, May 7, 2007 at her home. She was the former Mary Pierce, a Louisville native, a member of St. Rita Catholic Church and several of the church's clubs, the Lively Hearts Club, the Quilt Circle and the Spirituality Group. Mrs. Alvey was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Alvey. She is survived by three daughters, Carol McCaskill, Gloria Kirkpatrick and Mary Ann Howard (Kevin); two sons, William J. Alvey and Steve Alvey (Diane); brother, Tom Pierce, two sisters, Glenda Brinkley and Mary Rogers; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great- grandchildren. Her funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Rita Catholic Church, 8709 Preston Hwy., with burial in the St. Michael Cemetery. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Arch L. Heady & Son Okolona. Expressions of sympathy can be made to Hospice of Louisville.
