Mrs. Fredericka Bonitz, widow of Herman R. Bonitz, former residents of Burlington is dead at her home in Clifton, N. J., according to word received here.
Fredericka Dewein was born in Burlington, November 18, 1844, and married to Herman Bonitz, who preceded her in death five years ago. Mr. Bonitz was a well known businessman here. Mrs. Bonitz came from a pioneer family here. Her father built the first brick house in Burlington, and her mother was a Charter member of the old First Evangelical Lutheran church. Mrs. Bonitz was for many years the soprano soloist of the choir of this church.
Mrs. Bonitz was the sister of Mrs. John Blaul, Mrs. Henry Herman and Mrs. Herman Pietzsch, who were all residents of this city. A brother, Louis Dewein and other relatives still live here. She is survived also by three sons. Robert and Edgar Bonitz of Passaic, N. J., and Raymond J. Bonitz of Irvington: three daughters, Mrs. Louisa Schneider, of Philadelphia; Miss Jeanette Bonitz and Miss Laura E. Bonitz of Passaic, N. J., six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
