|We have been working on our family tree for about 15 years. Have only recently began working with Find A Grave as photographers in our area. It has been fun doing this work. |
The families we are connected with are:
Donath, Heinzel, Boy, Beers, Crocker, Snyder, Hermann, Bedei, Hagedorn, Horn, Volk--to mention the main groups--many others associated from those which are Koetz/Kates, Peterson, Anton Smith family, Schoberts, Rinkers and Walters most in the La Salle Co., Illinois area and since a large group from this area moved to Sarpy Co., Nebraska, in the 1880's to 1900, that area also.
The other main location is in the Burlington, Iowa area for Snyders, Hermanns, Grotewohls, Crockers,Hasenjagers, Slaters and associated families to those.
Other families of interest are Gretencord, Meyers of the La Salle Co., Ill.; area. Santelman of the La Salle and Livingston Co., areas; Sunderman associated with Mary Sunderman Koetz of La Salle co., Ill. and Sundermans in the Griswold Iowa area. Bierdemans in any area. and Lutzingers/Luchsinger/Lusingers in the Bureau Co and Will Co., area.
I am also working on the Dewein family of Burlington, Iowa as well as the Buhrmaster family.

Sounds like you are on the right track.
Good luck with your family research.
Regarding the memorials for Edward and Emilie Rautenberg, if you search Old Union Cemetery for the name Rautenberg you'll find a list of 8 names. Your entries for Edward and Emilie were made in June 2013. However, there were already existing memorials for these two people entered in September 2008 by Lesa Bergeron (memorials #29774374 and #29774367). And while your memorials are much more complete than Lesa's, I believe Find A Grave practice is to keep the original memorials, add your information to those memorials through Edit suggestions, then delete the more recent duplicates to increase the accuracy and avoid duplicate records in Find a Grave. Do what you wish, I'm just showing where duplicate records exist. I never mean to offend anyone.

You requested a photo of Euphemia Jacoby's gravestone in Block 79 of Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington, Iowa. Unfortunately, a gravestone survey of the cemetery completed in 1979 found grave markers for only two Jacobys in Block 79, a military marker for Sebastian Jacoby, Co. G 25th Ia Inf (No dates), and for Juliet F. Jacoby, b. 10 Jan 1837, d. 13 Apr 1870. Cemetery burial records show only 3 Jacoby family members buried in Block 79. Others buried in the same lot have Campbell, Gilbert, Rogers, and Searcy surnames.

Again no, I'm unwilling to transfer. I'm related to some and this cemetery I'm very connected with and throughout.

Hi - thank you for the information about Lora. I have updated her memorial page. Always good to have children and parents linked. Thanks again. Phyllis
|Julie Carlson||RE: Jacob Luchsinger|
Sorry it took so long to get this off to you. Jacob Jr. was my grandfather, I have his obit. I am still going through all the paper work I have come into of late. If I find Great Grandfather Jacobs ( Jake's Father) in the paperwork I will let you know, we will get it posted.
|john steele||RE: Augusta Krueger|
Yes, I think you can update some of the memorials that I created. Yes, I am willing to transfer some.
Thanks for asking.
|Julie Carlson||Jacob Luchsinger|
I am curious about the story published about Jacob Luchsinger.....He was my Grandfather....or Great grandfather. What is the story? JC
|Michael D||RE: Joseph Gahan|
I am sorry to say that area of the cemetery has several stones that are unreadable. One of which may be for those people you think should be there. I created memorials for all the readable that were not already created, including several Gahans. Another photographer may do better, but I doubt it.
