Mrs. C. Lynn Stiles

The death of Mrs. Esther (Gano) Stiles of Whig Corners, widow of the late C. Lynn Stiles, occurred Wednesday morning of last week at 10:30 o'clock at the mary Imogene Bassett hospital where she had been a patient since June 28th. Death resulted from a heart ailment with which she had suffered for a number of years.

Mrs. Stiles was born near Milford on August 24, 1875, a daughter of Elbert and Mary (Hawver) Gano. She married Mr. Stiles on December 24, 1902, and had resided at Whig Corners since that time. His death occurred in January, 1936.

She was a member of the First Baptist church at Cooperstown, and of the Red Creek Valley Grange at Whig Corners.

She is survived by two sons, Letson P. Stiles of Whig Corners and Elbert W. Stiles of Sidney; five grandchildren; a nephew, Harold Taylor of Richfield Springs; and several cousins.

Funeral services were held from the home of her son, Letson, at Whig Corners Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Walter A. Miller, pastor of the Westville Baptist church, officiated and interment was in the family plot in Westville Cemetery.
