Wednesday night of last week about 6 o'clock Miss Hilda Solien, who has been suffering from consumption for several months, passed quietly away to that undiscovered country from whose bourn no traveler returns. Deceased began to show signs of failing health about a year ago when she returned from Dakota where she had been teaching school and working hard at her educational duties as was her want. She soon rallied however and until Thanksgiving last was apparently as well as ever. Thruout the winter she was not strong and for sometime before her death it was evident to anxious loved ones about her that she was not destined to ever regain her health. She was born, and died on the home farm in Home Lake where with the exception of a few months spent in Dakota, she lived her short life of 23 years. The funeral was held Saturday at the Wild Rice church. (Twin Valley Times, July 22, 1908)
