Funeral services took place from Zion Lutheran church here Tuesday, October 8th, at 2:00 p.m., with the Rev. Maurice S. Molvik officiating.
Vocal selections, "I Know I Sleep in Jesus Name" and "The Old Rugged Cross" were rendered by Mrs. Charles Olson, with Mrs. Maurice S. Molvik as organist.
Pallbearers were Alfred Slette, Mencer L. Englund, Kermit Cary, Lester Hoien, Emil Lerud and Clarnece Alberton. Interment was in Zion cemetery here with the Erlien Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Miss Mina Solien was born Oct. 21, 1881, the daughter of pioneering parents Carl and Oleane Solien, in Home Lake township. She grew up on the farm near Syre and attended rural school. She had never married.
Being the eldest daughter in the family she remained at home and helped take care of the younger children. Later she took care of her aging mother and father for many years. She also was a dressmaker and seamstress. Her special hobby was cooking in which she excelled. She was an active member of the ALCW for many years and a member of the Wild Rice Lutheran church for 43 years and of Zion Lutheran church the past four years. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Miss Solien is survived by three brothers, J. Arthur Solien, Valley City, N.D.; August Solien, Moorhead, Minn., and Otto Solien, Twin Valley; two sisters, Clara and Alma Solien, both of Twin Valley; plus several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph, an infant sister, Ovidia, two other sisters, Hilda and Marie, and her parents.
