John W. Stephenson (son of William B. Stephenson and Elizabeth “Betsy” Woollums) joined the Lebanon Presbyterian Church in Grant County about 1828 and was a member there all of his life. He married Rebecca McClure on March 28, 1834. They farmed in Kenton County, Kentucky. John was described as a strong person and ruled his home with authority.
