Pembroke - LeRoy Beasley, 57, died Wednesday morning at St. Joseph's Hospital after an extended illness.

Mr. Beasley was retired from the Department of Transportation after many years of service. He was a Vietnam Veteran in the Marine Corp where he received the National Defense Service Medal, two Vietnam Service Medals and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Mr. Beasley later served 18 years in the Army National Guard where he received the Honorary Citizen Achievement Award. He was an avid fisherman and a member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Patricia S. Beasley of Pembroke; one son and daughter-in-law, LeRoy Shannon and Vicki Beasley of Pembroke; two daughters and sons-in-law, Georgette and Raymundo Ramirez of Savannah and Carol and Gerard Austin Jr. of Ludowici; five brothers, Meady C. Beasley Jr. of Ellabell, Jimmy Beasley of Savannah, Bernice Beasley of Claxton and Lester Beasley of Pembroke; one sister, Jeanette Bacon of Pembroke; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Chapel of Morrison Funeral Home.
