George Washington Dallas "Dal" Stone was born May 1847 in Hardin County, TN to Meredith and Elizabeth Ann "Betsy" (Garrett) Stone. The family located near Hammonsville in White County, AR in 1853. "Dal" married Lou Candy Strickland 17 Feb 1869 in Conway County, AR. They were the parents of nine children. "Dal" served many years as Justice of the Peace for White County. He was a farmer in Jefferson Township. He had problems with consumptions through the years and died of it 19 Mar 1911. He was buried in the family cemetery, Union Hill Cemetery, 20 Mar 1911.
