Dr. Elijah Franklin Stone was born 7 Aug 1827 in Mary County, TN, to Meredith and Elizabeth Ann "Betsy" (Garrett) Stone. He was their first born child. Dr. E. F. Stone grew to manhood in Tennessee and married Ellizabeth Caroline Carothers 13 Sep 1849 in Maury County, TN. They were the parents of seven children, five of whom survived infancy. After Caroline's death in 1864, E. F. married Martha A. Persons in 1866 in Faulkner County, AR. E. F. and Martha were the parents of nine children. Dr. Stone died 22 Apr 1912 in Bristol, Faulkner, AR, and was buried in Union Hill Cemetery, El Paso, White County, AR.
