In 1673, Norwalk records show that the estate of Mathias Sension, Jr. was worth 145 pounds and that they were the parents of seven children. At a town meeting on December 17, 1678, he was chosen to keep an "ordinary" (Inn) at his residence for "entertayning strangers". He was paid 1 pound, 2 shillings and 6 pence for beating the drum on December 30, 1701."
