Son of Nicholas BEERY (1732-1812) and Mary KELLER (1740-1788).

Married Margaret SHAVER in Rockingham County, Virginia, on March 15, 1788.

BEERY family genealogists report John's birth as Nov. 4, 1765. However, a genealogist who read his gravestone in 1982 reported that the stone read, "John Beery, d. May 31, 1850; aged 84Y 5M 26D." That death date and age yield the birth date Dec. 5, 1765.

Children: Nicholas (b. 1789), Elizabeth (b. 1791), Henry (b. 1793), John A. (b. 1795), David, (b. 1797), Abraham W. (b. 1799), and Noah (b. 1806).

John's son David (b. 1797) married Susan HUFFORD (b. 1800). Susan was a daughter of Casper HUFFORD and Catharine STIHLI.

John's son Abraham (b. 1799) married Elizabeth MERICLE (b. 1802). Elizabeth was a daugher of Catherine STIHLI's sister Saloma (b. 1781).
