My Great Grandmother (Maternal).
Rose Etta Dingman married Lorenzo Edgerton, 18 May 1893, in Canajoharie, Montgomery Co., New York; they had a child together, my grandmother Mable May Edgerton. Rose leaves Lorenzo and takes thier daughter with her and goes back to New York. Rose tells her family that Lorenzo was not providing for their needs. Rose later married Chauncey Russ in Ames, Montgomery Co., New York. Rose gave birth to three more children, two sons and a daughter.
Rose Etta passed away from tuberculosis. Her brother Nathan and sister Belinda also die from tuberculosis.
Less than two months after Rose dies, her son Harvey, age fourteen, drowns in the Erie Canal. Family members claim he is buried next to his mother Rose, although the caretaker has no record of his being buried in the cemetery, and there is no stone marker for him. His father Chauncey, also buried there has no individual stone marker either.

My great grandmother's obituary.

Mrs. Russ was born July 8, 1870, at Marshville, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dingman.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 12 o'clock at the Methodist church. The Rev. John Landry will officiate.

Unknown where her first husband, Lorenzo Edgerton (my great grandfather) is buried. He remarried, and was living in Alpena, Alpena Co., Michigan in the 1920 Federal Census, in the 1930 Federal Census, his wife Alice is head of family living with her daughter and Alice is listed as a widow. Lorenzo died between 1920 and 1930. Lorenzo's ancestry goes back to pilgrim William Bradford of the Mayflower.
