He was born in the Town of Canajoharie Jan. 9, 1897, son of Chauncey and Rose Dingman Russ, and had always lived in this vicinity.
Survivors are his wife of this village;, three sons, Stewart of Canajoharie R.D., Arthur J. of Fort Plain, R.D., and Arnold of Rome; two daughters, Mrs. Florence Vogel and Miss Ruth Russ, Fort Plain R.D.; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Dingman, Salt Springville; and a half sister, Mrs. Morgan Dingman, Fort Plain.
The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Houghtaling funeral home with Rev. William Knorr, pastor of the Fort Plain Baptist church, officiating. Burial will be in Ames cemetery.
